Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) travels to the land of Singhal to get pearls for his wife Nagmati (Anupriya Goenka). Destiny makes Ratan Singh meet Queen Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) and instantly falls for her beauty. The duo gets married and returns to Chittor.
Raghav Chetan, the guru of Maharawal Ratan Singh, tries to attack the king but is caught and exiled.
Raghav Chetan informs Khilji (Ranveer Singh) about Queen Padmavati who is blessed with beauty and brains and he deserves to have Padmavati by her side.
Khilji thus begins his take-over mission but fails in his mission as Queen Padmavati along with the women of Chittor sacrifice self life.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film is an optical amusement and thoroughly engaging fare, and Ranveer Singh’s performance is worth a watch.
It talks about Rajput pride and clearly no offence to anyone.
