Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor’s Padmaavat is finally released today worldwide on 25th January 2018 and is produced under the banner of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions and Viacom 18.
The film is based on the 16th-century Sufi poet, Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s epic poem, Padmaavat. Apart from Hindi, the film is also released in Tamil and Telugu languages.
Unfortunately, the film is not yet released in the states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Goa due to the protests getting wild.
As per the latest reports it is revealed that Ranveer Singh’s film earns around Rs 5 crore in paid previews while the collections gets hampered due to the protests or else it would have cross Rs 10 crores.
As trade experts, the film was expected to gross around Rs 25 to Rs 30 crore on day one but due to the protests the film will manage to earn Rs 20 crore.
Padmaavat was expected to cross Rs 100 crore benchmark on first week itself being a long Republic weekend but the protests spoiled everything while the tarot predictions reveal that the film will pick up in next week.
